Blue Marine and Grupo Durandco collect about half a ton of plastic caps

Congratulations! The talent of Grupo Industrial Durandco (GID) and Blue Marine in Mexico City and Ciudad del Carmen managed to raise nearly 492 kilos of plastic caps, all for a good cause.

GID joined Banco de Tapitas AC to generate funds to support medical treatments for children diagnosed with cancer. The initiative was carried out from May to October 2023.

In Mexico City, the General Services area was the winning team, collecting 102.9 kg of tapitas. In second place, very closely, was the Human Resources area, with 101.3 kg. Congratulations to both teams for the effort!

In Mexico City, the General Services area took first place with 194 kg collected; the other areas collected, in total, 39 kilos. Congratulations to General Services!

It should be remembered that caps of water, juices, soft drinks and milk were accepted, but also cream, yogurt, medicines, shampoo, deodorant, oil and cleaning products.

Why partner with Banco de Tapitas AC?

In 2012, the Civil Hospital of Guadalajara, with the dual purpose of recycling plastics that pollute and helping its low-income patients with cancer, began a campaign to collect PET bottle caps to raise funds from the IP.

For six months, hundreds of tapitas were collected and given to a businessman, who offered payment for 10 chemotherapy treatments in exchange. Over the months, benefactors multiplied and dozens of companies join this recycling effort year after year with a good medical cause.
